Message from Benson

Hello everyone!

I'm Benson, a very good boy at Mettacats & Dogs Sanctuary! I'm around 6 years old and I'm a hot fav amongst some volunteers because I'm such a cute cuddlebug. I love to be carried around like a baby!

Besides spending my time clinging to my fav hoomans, I also love to steal dog food (yum yum) snooze and lounge around with the other ginger cats. We are soooo hilarious when we're all in one ginger pile!

I'm unique, though - I'm a pale ginger unlike my shelter bros who are brighter (which means I am the rare one, hah!) By the way, I learnt that my ginger fur comes from a pigment called pheomelanin, which is the same pigment that gives humans red hair! I'm shook! You mean there are humans with my colour? I asked my volunteers but they said I'm unlikely to see them cos I live in Singapore, oh well!

Now I'd like to tell you about Mettacats and Dogs' new sponsorship programme! We're starting a sponsorship campaign of $80/ cat or dog, to help contribute to our food, litter, supplements and other supplies! Sponsors will get personalised notes and appointments for visits, as well as other updates and invites to our events! This is purrfect for folks who would love to have a cat or dog (or ANOTHER) cat or dog but can't. You can "adopt" us remotely! And by the way, I am up for sponsorship!! Check out the highlights on @mcds_adoptions IG!

Your support would be super helpful to kitties like me. I've been here for almost 5 years and I think I might not get adopted because of my health conditions - I have illnesses like kidney disease and narrowly came back from the brink of death a couple of times. In fact, I was so ill that I became very, very skinny at one point and the hoomans were all so worried. Now, I have put on a lot of weight and I am much better, thanks to the volunteers and the kind supporters who donated money for me to see the vet! Yay!

Alrighty that's all for now - looking forward to your visits and thanks for reading my story!

Meows, Benson
